ENGINE BAY DETAIL BENEFITS
While it doesn't increase your vehicle's horsepower by having it clean, it makes your vehicle look better maintained, as a clean engine bay is often overlooked. Also, no more getting your hands and arms dirty just by checking the oil!
A clean engine will also be a huge plus in case you want to sell your vehicle. Where's the first place people like to look to inspect a vehicle they want to purchase? Under the hood!
Your mechanic will also thank you for a clean engine, in case they need to look for issues, leaks or even complete repairs.
In addition, it will help prevent rust from forming; under the hood and small pieces of exposed metal are at high risk of oxidizing and can cause performance issues down the line.

ENGINE BAY DETAIL FAQs
Is cleaning the engine safe?
The engine bay gets inspected before any cleaning begins to ensure the safest wash possible. All engines have sensitive components that need to be covered before safely cleaning it.
Engines from the 1990s and newer are better designed to withstand the elements, so carefully rinsing it will not hurt it. However older engines need much more preparation to protect sensitive components.

Can you prevent rodents from getting inside my engine bay?
There is no way to guarantee rodents won't be curious and avoid your engine bay completely, however there are solutions to minimize the chances of them spending a long time in there and making nests and destroying parts of your engine bay.
Strong-smelling products like mint and fabric softener sheets are a great way to minimize rodent activity in the engine bay or even the interior. These smells stress out rodents, so it forces them to flee somewhere else. HERE is a great video to watch if you would like to learn more.
While you can put these items in a dirty engine bay, the anti-rodent products will be more effective inside a clean engine bay since there wont be the smells of oil or anything else covering up the scents of these products.
